You could see the war room lean forward. Lander Barton at the 220th pick is the sort of fall that does not happen, except it just did. They moved the roster forward and banked a B- for it.
The edge rusher hole is the one line item this class does not answer. The Everette reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade.
Good work on the whole, with edge rusher the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
Will Campbell at the 6th pick is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Tate Ratledge in pick 38 lands just on the right side of the ledger. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
They barely believed it either: Xavier Watts still on the board at slot 77. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Jihaad Campbell at No. 81 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. A minor itch, scratched.
Daylen Everette at the 105th overall pick jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. A minor need, but a need all the same.
A top-tier running back at a bargain, TreVeyon Henderson in Round 4, Pick 6, plain and simple. The roster fit checks out.
A linebacker of that caliber at pick No. 143 is the definition of value, full stop. A luxury on a unit that was already in good shape.
Brant Kuithe in the Round 7 slot is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. It fills a real need, too.
Lander Barton in Round 7, Pick 4 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. Insurance at a position that did not really ask for it.
Jared Wilson at the 241st pick is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
