The search is over. The Raiders handed the keys to Fernando Mendoza, and the whole operation now runs on his development. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B-.

Scott falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch. Altmyer has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced.

The edge rusher hole is the one line item this class does not answer. Almost all the early capital went to that side of the ball.

Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.1 · Pick 1 · Fernando Mendoza · QB · rank 4
In the 1st overall pick they get the arm they will build around at fair value. A clean fit for the roster.
R2.4 · Pick 36 · Max Iheanachor · OT · rank 46
A premium they did not need to pay, Max Iheanachor a notch or two before his time. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
R3.3 · Pick 67 · Christen Miller · DL · rank 56
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Christen Miller at pick 67. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
R4.2 · Pick 102 · Keionte Scott · CB · rank 60
Taking Keionte Scott in slot 102 is close to grand larceny; a cornerback that good had no business lasting this long. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
R4.17 · Pick 117 · Elijah Sarratt · WR · rank 77
Steal is underselling it; Elijah Sarratt at Round 4, Pick 17 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
R4.34 · Pick 134 · Kaytron Allen · RB · rank 146
Kaytron Allen in pick No. 134 is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
R5.35 · Pick 175 · Aamil Wagner · OT · rank 171
Aamil Wagner in No. 175 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
R6.4 · Pick 185 · Zane Durant · DT · rank 177
A tidy bit of business in the 185th pick, where Zane Durant graded well above the range. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
R6.27 · Pick 208 · Jeff Caldwell · WR · rank 187
Somehow Jeff Caldwell was still sitting there in the Round 6 slot, and they pounced on premier wide receiver value. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
R7.3 · Pick 219 · Luke Altmyer · QB · rank 243
They talked themselves into Luke Altmyer at No. 219, and the board did not agree. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
