The Raiders spent the pick that matters most on Fernando Mendoza, and a roster that has been waiting on a passer can start to take shape.

That edge rusher hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. The Hunter pick is the one they will point to when this weekend is judged. The trade work was a quiet net positive.

They will need Bowry to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it.

In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.
