If you want a masterclass in dealing, watch the Rams, who turned every swap into a profit this weekend.
The Austin value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere. For all the activity, running back went untouched, which is hard to explain. The roster is better shaped than it was, with wide receiver chief among the fixes.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but running back.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 18th overall pick they get a No. 1 receiver. Exactly the need they had to hit.
CJ Allen in the 49th pick is a gift, value that borders on unfair. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Nice patience on A.J. Haulcy, who had no business lasting to pick 61. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Chase Bisontis in pick No. 93 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Value with a capital V on Keagen Trost in the Round 6 slot, a genuine coup. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Cole Payton in No. 207 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. It fills a real need, too.
Kaden Wetjen at the 232nd overall pick is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
They robbed the room for Brent Austin here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
No edge and no loss on Jack Kelly in pick No. 252; it is a wash and a sensible one. Stacking talent where they were already deep.
