You can hear the double-takes from here. The Dolphins took Zak Zinter at Round 2, Pick 23, roughly 50 spots before his name belonged. It nets out to a B-, which feels about right.
They banked enough surplus on Smith to cover a lot of smaller sins. They punted on quarterback, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. Almost all the early capital went to that side of the ball.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the quarterback spot they never got to.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 21st overall pick they get a home-run threat at receiver. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
