The value of the weekend has a name and a slot: Ro Torrence, slot 252, roughly 73 picks past where he belonged. Good, not great, and the B says as much.

They will regret leaving tight end for another day if the season turns on it. The Carson pick is fine in a vacuum, less so with tight end and quarterback still on the board. They went 6 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.

Small wins on the phones, but wins all the same.

Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.

Pick-by-Pick

R2.4 · Pick 36 · Adonai Mitchell · WR · rank 31
A clean, defensible pick in the 36th pick with a little surplus value in Adonai Mitchell. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
R3.8 · Pick 72 · Darius Robinson · DL-EDGE · rank 39
Darius Robinson in slot 72 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
R3.32 · Pick 95 · Khyree Jackson · CB · rank 95
Khyree Jackson at the Round 3 slot is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A minor itch, scratched.
R3.37 · Pick 100 · Caelen Carson · CB · rank 94
A curious use of Round 3, Pick 37. Tight end and quarterback needed the pick; a cornerback in Caelen Carson did not.
R4.11 · Pick 111 · Cedric Gray · LB · rank 113
By-the-book stuff, Cedric Gray at No. 111 squarely in line with his ranking. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
R4.32 · Pick 132 · Roger Rosengarten · OT · rank 135
A straight-up fair deal on Roger Rosengarten at pick No. 132, value and slot in agreement. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
R5.3 · Pick 139 · Isaiah Adams · OT · rank 138
No drama and no debate, Isaiah Adams went about where he belonged in the 139th overall pick. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
R5.23 · Pick 159 · Isaiah Davis · RB · rank 156
Fair-plus on Isaiah Davis, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. A need, and now a little less of one.
R5.37 · Pick 173 · Tyrone Tracy Jr. · WR · rank 150
A wide receiver of that caliber at slot 173 is the definition of value, full stop. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
R6.10 · Pick 185 · Jordan Jefferson · DT · rank 184
Jordan Jefferson in the 185th pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
R7.32 · Pick 252 · Ro Torrence · CB · rank 179
They will replay Ro Torrence at the 252nd overall pick for years; that is how good the value is. Nice player, but the depth chart did not need him here.
