Somewhere a general manager is explaining how Dylan Laube got past him. The Chiefs do not have to explain a thing at slot 252.

The dealing alone would carry a lesser class. The Melton pick is fine in a vacuum, less so with tight end and quarterback still on the board. They punted on tight end, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.

In short, they turned a good board into a better roster, and it shows.
