Arizona Cardinals

Good, not great, for the Cardinals: B-.

The move everyone will second-guess came early. The Cardinals reached some 45 spots for Shemar Turner, and value like that does not grow back. Good, not great, and the B- says as much.

Getting McCord where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through wide receiver.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but wide receiver.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.16 · Pick 16 · Cameron Williams · OT · rank 38
In No. 16 they get a cornerstone up front, a steep price for the projection. Exactly the need they had to hit.
R2.15 · Pick 47 · Demetrius Knight Jr. · LB · rank 58
A reach on Demetrius Knight Jr. in the Round 2 slot; the board had better options right there. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
R3.14 · Pick 78 · Shemar Turner · DL · rank 123
This one needs a full-page explanation: Shemar Turner in pick No. 78, miles early. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
R4.13 · Pick 114 · Joshua Farmer · DT · rank 117
They took Joshua Farmer at par in slot 114, which is nothing to complain about. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
R5.14 · Pick 153 · Kyle McCord · QB · rank 120
Kyle McCord at the 153rd overall pick is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
