Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Abney II should have been long gone. The Buccaneers pounced, and earned a B-.
Somebody in the Round 3 slot was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The Buccaneers sat still while Keith Abney II, the No. 43 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B-.
They punted on interior defensive lineman, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. The Height reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade.
On the needs board they went 2 of 8, with cornerback the one that mattered most. The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom.
All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
