You build a draft on nights like this. Denzel Boston had no business being available in the 55th pick, and the Chargers did the only sane thing and turned in the card. Call it a sensible B, earned the boring way.
They covered a lot of ground and still skipped interior defensive lineman, which is a strange place to end up. They went 3 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.
In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.
Pick-by-Pick
They paid sticker price for Cashius Howell in slot 22, and that is fine. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
You do not let a wide receiver like Denzel Boston reach pick No. 55 and blink. They did not. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
