Call it belief, call it a gut call, but Cade Klubnik at the Round 2 slot is 101 spots clear of consensus, and that is the headline.
They handed away value on the phones that the picks cannot earn back. A whole weekend of picks and cornerback is somehow still a want.
Quarterback is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.
It grades out a shrug today, with plenty of room to move either way.
Pick-by-Pick
Carnell Tate in No. 16 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. It fills a real need, too.
In Round 1, Pick 28 they get a problem off the edge. The biggest hole, addressed.
A real head-scratcher, LT Overton in pick 33 is miles ahead of his ranking. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Cade Klubnik in pick No. 38 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
They liked Josiah Trotter enough to skip the value, taking him in slot 44. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
