The Rams spent the pick that matters most on Ty Simpson, and a roster that has been waiting on a passer can start to take shape. It does the job without flash, and the B- reflects it.
However the rest shakes out, Pregnon at that price is a win they earned. They punted on wide receiver, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. Every board in the league had Neal lower, and that gap is the story.
They left with offensive lineman solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.
Pick-by-Pick
They paid sticker price for Ty Simpson in pick 13, and that is fine. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Emmanuel Pregnon in the 61st pick should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
This one needs a full-page explanation: Julian Neal in pick No. 93, miles early. A minor itch, scratched.
