The rest of the league had time to spare on Jalon Kilgore; the Vikings did not wait, grabbing him 51 spots ahead at Round 2, Pick 17. No fireworks, but a solid B-.
The quarterback hole is the one line item this class does not answer. Landing Lawson that late papers over a lot of smaller sins.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the quarterback spot they never got to.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 18 they get a plug-and-play piece up front at fair value. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
They reached a country mile for Jalon Kilgore at the 49th overall pick, and the board is aghast. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Michael Taaffe slid further than he should have, and slot 82 is lovely value for the safety. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
A slide stopped in pick No. 97, with Deontae Lawson worth more than the price. A minor need, but a need all the same.
