After circling the position for what felt like forever, the Patriots committed. Jayden Daniels is the quarterback now, and the roster gets built to his timeline.
If Sinnott pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about. The Wilson steal is the beam this whole class leans on.
The edge rusher spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.
Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 11 they get a passer to set the clock by. A real need, handled.
Brian Thomas Jr. at pick No. 23 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
JC Latham in slot 34 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Roman Wilson in Round 3, Pick 4 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Somehow Kingsley Suamataia was still sitting there in the 80th overall pick, and they pounced on premier offensive lineman value. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Ben Sinnott in the 97th pick is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
A clean, defensible pick in No. 103 with a little surplus value in Khyree Jackson. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
No drama and no debate, Jaylin Simpson went about where he belonged in the Round 5 slot. A want dressed up as a pick, at a spot they had covered.
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Joe Milton III well ahead of where he belonged. A need, and now a little less of one.
A tidy little value on Frank Gore Jr. in the Round 7 slot, a step better than break-even. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
