Thirty-one other rooms let Logan Jones slide, and the Ravens were the ones holding the card at the 115th overall pick. Highway robbery.
They will need Randall to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. The edge rusher hole is the one line item this class does not answer.
Good work on the whole, with edge rusher the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 14 they get a weapon on the perimeter. A real need, handled.
Fair-plus on Caleb Banks, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Max Klare at the Round 3 slot is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
They will replay Logan Jones at pick 115 for years; that is how good the value is. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
A clean, defensible pick in the 154th pick with a little surplus value in Charles Demmings. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Nothing to complain about; Beau Stephens went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
They jumped the gun on Jeff Caldwell, taking him earlier than his grade liked. The roster fit checks out.
Taylen Green in slot 174 is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
A premium they did not need to pay, Thaddeus Dixon a notch or two before his time. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Jack Kelly at pick No. 250 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
A real head-scratcher, Adam Randall in Round 7, Pick 37 is miles ahead of his ranking. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
