The real work happened on the phones. The Ravens fleeced their trade partners, turning their picks into a noticeably bigger pile than they started with.
If one pick saves this weekend, it is Dunker. A whole weekend of picks and interior defensive lineman is somehow still a want.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but interior defensive lineman.
Pick-by-Pick
A clean, defensible pick in pick 15 with a little surplus value in Carnell Tate. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
A straight-up fair deal on Eli Stowers at the 52nd overall pick, value and slot in agreement. A need, and now a little less of one.
They robbed the room for Gennings Dunker here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
No edge and no loss on Billy Schrauth in pick No. 115; it is a wash and a sensible one. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
A top-tier offensive lineman at a bargain, Logan Jones in No. 116, plain and simple. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Hezekiah Masses slid further than he should have, and Round 5, Pick 14 is lovely value for the cornerback. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Dametrious Crownover at Round 5, Pick 20. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
The board had Charles Demmings higher than pick 162, and the cornerback fell to them anyway. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
They did well to land Jalen Stroman in slot 211, just ahead of his grade. It adds depth where they could use a little.
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Noah Whittington in the Round 7 slot. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
A reasonable price with a little left over, Eli Heidenreich in No. 253. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
