Somewhere a scout is still blinking. The Ravens spent slot 162 on Kaleb Elarms-Orr, a name the board had a full 21 spots lower. It does the job without flash, and the B- reflects it.
Landing Jones that late papers over a lot of smaller sins. They will regret leaving edge rusher for another day if the season turns on it.
In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 14th pick they get a matchup weapon at tight end. A real need, handled.
A tidy little value on Caleb Banks in pick No. 45, a step better than break-even. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Skyler Bell in the Round 3 slot is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It fills a real need, too.
Logan Jones at No. 115 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
A reasonable price with a little left over, Kaytron Allen in Round 5, Pick 14. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
This one needs a full-page explanation: Kaleb Elarms-Orr in slot 162, miles early. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Domani Jackson in No. 173 is fair value, right on his grade. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Beau Stephens in slot 174 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
The board had Taylen Green higher than the 211th pick, and the quarterback fell to them anyway. The roster fit checks out.
No drama and no debate, Jalen Huskey went about where he belonged in pick 250. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
They took Josh Cuevas at par in Round 7, Pick 37, which is nothing to complain about. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
