This is the pick they will still be bragging about in July: Jeffrey Bassa, the No. 118 name on the board, stolen at pick No. 236. Good, not great, and the B says as much.
That wide receiver hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. The future picks help the war chest more than the win-now roster.
Tight end was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job. Value over need was the throughline, for better and worse.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the wide receiver spot they never got to.
Pick-by-Pick
By-the-book stuff, TreVeyon Henderson at No. 61 squarely in line with his ranking. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Tyler Warren in pick No. 79 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
A top-tier safety at a bargain, Andrew Mukuba in slot 89, plain and simple. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Quinshon Judkins at pick 146 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. The roster fit checks out.
Smael Mondon Jr. in the Round 6 slot is a gift, value that borders on unfair. A minor need, but a need all the same.
A linebacker of that caliber at the 236th pick is the definition of value, full stop. A want more than a need, though you can never have too many.
Steal is underselling it; Upton Stout at the 247th overall pick is a heist with the alarm still ringing. They added to a strength when a need was still open elsewhere.
