The Kevin Jennings selection is the head-turner. The Cardinals reached 120 spots for him, and it will define how this weekend is remembered. No fireworks, but a solid B-.
On value alone, Walker makes the weekend a net positive. For all the activity, wide receiver went untouched, which is hard to explain.
The roster is better shaped than it was, with quarterback chief among the fixes.
In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 16th pick they get an anchor for the offensive line. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Steal is underselling it; Jalon Walker at pick No. 47 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. A need, and now a little less of one.
A market-rate interior defensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Aeneas Peebles. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Kevin Jennings at Round 4, Pick 12 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
A real head-scratcher, Brandon Adams in the Round 5 slot is miles ahead of his ranking. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
