Dallas Cowboys

Larceny in slot 211 lands the Cowboys a B, Gordon II and all.

by Crazylife · 2025 NFL Draft · 11 picks · 6 steals · 1 reaches
Value B+
Need B+
Trades D
Future A

The rest of the league will want that one back. Ollie Gordon II tumbling to the Cowboys in the 211th pick is a gift they did not have to think twice about. No fireworks, but a solid B.

The cost of the Gregory reach is exactly the players who went right after him. A whole weekend of picks and tight end is somehow still a want. The future picks help the war chest more than the win-now roster.

They were the ones paying the moving tax this weekend.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the tight end spot they never got to.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.24 · Pick 24 · Jahdae Barron · CB · rank 13
In pick 24 they get a lockdown presence outside at a price that makes it sweeter. The biggest hole, addressed.
R2.12 · Pick 44 · Jihaad Campbell · LB · rank 41
A tidy little value on Jihaad Campbell in pick No. 44, a step better than break-even. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
R3.12 · Pick 76 · Isaiah Bond · WR · rank 76
Isaiah Bond in Round 3, Pick 12 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
R5.1 · Pick 139 · Raheim Sanders · RB · rank 146
Raheim Sanders at the 139th overall pick is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
R5.11 · Pick 149 · Tory Horton · WR · rank 110
Tory Horton at slot 149 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
R5.33 · Pick 171 · Bhayshul Tuten · RB · rank 151
Somehow Bhayshul Tuten was still sitting there in the 171st pick, and they pounced on premier running back value. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
R5.36 · Pick 174 · Tyler Shough · QB · rank 136
A quarterback of that caliber at the Round 5 slot is the definition of value, full stop. It fills a real need, too.
R6.28 · Pick 204 · RJ Harvey · RB · rank 158
They barely believed it either: RJ Harvey still on the board at No. 204. A need, and now a little less of one.
R6.35 · Pick 211 · Ollie Gordon II · RB · rank 164
They will replay Ollie Gordon II at pick 211 for years; that is how good the value is. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
R7.23 · Pick 239 · Eric Gregory · DL · rank 276
Eric Gregory in the 239th overall pick is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
R7.31 · Pick 247 · John Williams · OT · rank 242
John Williams at No. 247 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
