The weekend has a hole in the middle of it named wide receiver, a need the Eagles walked right past. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B-.
They are betting Knox proves the room right and everyone else wrong. Milton III falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch.
Cornerback was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but wide receiver.
Pick-by-Pick
In No. 27 they get a lockdown presence outside at a price that makes it sweeter. The biggest hole, addressed.
Jeremiah Trotter Jr. at pick No. 50 jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. A minor need, but a need all the same.
They paid sticker price for Adisa Isaac in the 59th overall pick, and that is fine. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Fair-plus on Zak Zinter, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
They went early on Braelon Allen in pick 137, and the value did not follow. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
They reached a country mile for Trey Knox at slot 156, and the board is aghast. A need, and now a little less of one.
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Joe Milton III in Round 5, Pick 36. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
A straight-up fair deal on Josh Proctor at the 178th pick, value and slot in agreement. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
