Nobody had Curtis Jacobs this high, and it is not close. The Eagles reached 25 spots to get him at Round 5, Pick 35. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B-.
The interior defensive lineman spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. The Keegan pick alone nudges the whole weekend up a notch. On the needs board they went 8 of 9, with cornerback the one that mattered most.
Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.
Pick-by-Pick
In No. 22 they get a potential shutdown corner, outstanding value to boot. The biggest hole, addressed.
A straight-up fair deal on Adisa Isaac at pick No. 50, value and slot in agreement. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
They took Jeremiah Trotter Jr. at par in the 53rd overall pick, which is nothing to complain about. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Braelon Allen in pick 97 is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. It fills a real need, too.
They paid sticker price for AJ Barner in the Round 5 slot, and that is fine. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Trevor Keegan in Round 5, Pick 34. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Curtis Jacobs well ahead of where he belonged. They doubled down on a strength rather than a need.
They reached into another round for Joe Milton III, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Josh Proctor in the 189th overall pick is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Bub Means at pick No. 240 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
