Every other box got a look, but interior defensive lineman did not. The Eagles will head to camp with the same hole they walked in with. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B.
The Milton III pick is the one they will point to when this weekend is judged. If Allen pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about.
On the needs board they went 7 of 9, with cornerback the one that mattered most.
All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 22 they get a quarterback's worst nightmare, and a steal at that. Exactly the need they had to hit.
T.J. Tampa at No. 50 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Edgerrin Cooper at pick No. 54 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Zak Zinter at the 97th pick is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
A big swing on Braelon Allen at pick 137, well ahead of any board in the building. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Javon Baker in the Round 5 slot is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and LaDarius Henderson at Round 5, Pick 36 is the proof. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
