The Eagles treated their own grade as gospel and everyone else's as noise, spending Round 3, Pick 34 on Darius Robinson a full 24 spots early. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B.
However the rest shakes out, Legette at that price is a win they earned. Leaving cornerback unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. Job largely done: edge rusher settled and 6 of 9 of the wish list covered.
Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.
Pick-by-Pick
In No. 22 they get a double-digit-sack hope. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Tyler Guyton at the 50th overall pick is money in the bank, a offensive lineman taken below his worth. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
They will replay Xavier Legette at slot 54 for years; that is how good the value is. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
They talked themselves into Darius Robinson at Round 3, Pick 34, and the board did not agree. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Braelon Allen at pick No. 137 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
They paid sticker price for Layden Robinson in pick 163, and that is fine. It fills a real need, too.
A straight-up fair deal on Curtis Jacobs at pick No. 172, value and slot in agreement. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
They read the board right and Joe Milton III was the payoff at slot 178. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Ja'Had Carter in Round 7, Pick 23 is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. A need, and now a little less of one.
