Some picks age like wine; Barryn Sorrell at the 222nd overall pick will need to, sitting 106 spots clear of his grade. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B.
Gadsden II falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch. They punted on quarterback, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.
A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.
Pick-by-Pick
In Round 1, Pick 8 they get a sticky cover corner at fair value. More want than need.
Value with a capital V on Cameron Williams in slot 45, a genuine coup. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Jihaad Campbell at pick 69 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Elic Ayomanor at the 77th pick is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Bradyn Swinson at pick No. 80 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Devin Neal in No. 105 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Nice patience on Malachi Moore, who had no business lasting to slot 110. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
The board fumbled Jordan Burch all the way to pick No. 145, and they scooped it up. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
They robbed the room for Hollin Pierce here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. The roster fit checks out.
Joshua Farmer in the Round 5 slot is a gift, value that borders on unfair. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
They read the board right and DJ Giddens was the payoff at the 191st overall pick. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
You do not let a tight end like Oronde Gadsden II reach the 210th pick and blink. They did not. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
A tidy bit of business in pick 219, where Jack Kiser graded well above the range. A want more than a need, though you can never have too many.
A real head-scratcher, Barryn Sorrell in No. 222 is miles ahead of his ranking. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
They left a pile of value on the table to take De'Corian Clark this early at Round 7, Pick 16. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Cam Jackson at pick No. 240. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
