Nobody had Reggie Grimes II this high, and it is not close. The Titans reached 198 spots to get him at the Round 7 slot.
They banked enough surplus on Igbinosun to cover a lot of smaller sins. That offensive lineman hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.
They came away with juice, if not much beef up front.
In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.
Pick-by-Pick
In No. 4 they get a bell-cow for the offense. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
A clean, defensible pick in pick 35 with a little surplus value in Denzel Boston. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
No drama and no debate, Jacob Rodriguez went about where he belonged in the 66th overall pick. A need, and now a little less of one.
Dani Dennis-Sutton in pick No. 101 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
You do not let a cornerback like Davison Igbinosun reach the 142nd pick and blink. They did not. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Value said wait; Nadame Tucker in slot 144 says they were not listening. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Eric O'Neill in the Round 6 slot is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
They reached a country mile for Kalil Alexander at pick No. 194, and the board is aghast. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Reggie Grimes II at the 225th overall pick is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
