Start where it matters. The Commanders took Caleb Williams to run the offense for the next decade, and every other decision this weekend bends around that one. It nets out a thoroughly average C.
The Sinnott reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade. The dealing is the wound this class cannot quite close. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through cornerback.
However the rest shakes out, Worthy at that price is a win they earned.
So much rides on Caleb Williams that the real verdict is a season or two away.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 2 they get the face of the franchise. A real need, handled.
They took Jordan Morgan at par in the 36th pick, which is nothing to complain about. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Chris Braswell in Round 2, Pick 5 is fair value, right on his grade. The roster fit checks out.
By-the-book stuff, Tyler Nubin at the Round 2 slot squarely in line with his ranking. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
The board had Xavier Worthy higher than pick No. 67, and the wide receiver fell to them anyway. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Fair-plus on Malik Washington, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Ben Sinnott at pick 103 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
They paid sticker price for Michael Pratt in the 138th overall pick, and that is fine. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Steele Chambers in pick No. 181 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Javontae Jean-Baptiste in the 220th pick is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
