They will call it conviction in the building and a reach everywhere else: Tyler Harrell, 131 picks early at the 229th pick. It washes out to a C, no better and no worse.
They banked enough surplus on Braswell to cover a lot of smaller sins. The dealing is the wound this class cannot quite close. That interior defensive lineman hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.
Not a disaster, not a triumph, just a middling class.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 11 they get a long-term starter on the line, though they paid up to get him.
Roman Wilson in pick No. 34 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
J.J. McCarthy in the Round 2 slot is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Chris Braswell in the 68th overall pick is a gift, value that borders on unfair. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Blake Corum at Round 4, Pick 4 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Roger Rosengarten at No. 153 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the offensive lineman. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Joe Milton III at pick 182 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. A need, and now a little less of one.
They reached a country mile for Tyler Harrell at the Round 7 slot, and the board is aghast. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
