Give the war room a raise for the dealing alone. The Packers came out ahead on every exchange that mattered, and it was not close. The bottom line is a respectable B+.
If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through edge rusher. If one pick saves this weekend, it is Van Pran.
A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 9th pick they get a difference-maker at receiver. A clean fit for the roster.
Jeremiah Trotter Jr. in No. 43 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Kalen King at Round 2, Pick 17 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Kamren Kinchens in the Round 3 slot is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Sedrick Van Pran at slot 82 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Troy Fautanu in pick 109 is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
The board had cheaper options than MarShawn Lloyd at pick No. 135, and it noticed. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
