The best pick of the weekend was also the simplest. The Patriots watched Jha'Quan Jackson slide 53 picks past his grade and did not hesitate. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B+.
The dealing alone would carry a lesser class. The cost of the All reach is exactly the players who went right after him.
They punted on edge rusher, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.
Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.
Pick-by-Pick
By-the-book stuff, Kiran Amegadjie at slot 68 squarely in line with his ranking. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
They jumped the gun on Spencer Rattler, taking him earlier than his grade liked. The roster fit checks out.
A reach for Luke McCaffrey in No. 137; a little patience would have been rewarded. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Erick All in the Round 6 slot is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Jha'Quan Jackson at the 231st pick is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
