The value of the weekend has a name and a slot: Josh Cameron, pick No. 218, roughly 36 picks past where he belonged. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B.
They covered a lot of ground and still skipped quarterback, which is a strange place to end up. The cost of the Perkins Jr. reach is exactly the players who went right after him.
The future picks help the war chest more than the win-now roster.
A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.
Pick-by-Pick
Jermod McCoy at the 20th pick is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
In slot 29 they get a premier pass rusher, reach and all. Need was not the driver here.
A tidy little value on CJ Allen in the 38th overall pick, a step better than break-even. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Somehow Michael Taaffe was still sitting there in pick No. 92, and they pounced on premier safety value. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
They jumped the gun on Harold Perkins Jr., taking him earlier than his grade liked. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
The board fumbled Davison Igbinosun all the way to Round 5, Pick 12, and they scooped it up. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
A quiet steal in No. 177: Aamil Wagner for less than the market said. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Febechi Nwaiwu slid further than he should have, and pick 180 is lovely value for the offensive lineman. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Josh Cameron at Round 7, Pick 2 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
