Whoever sat across the table from the Cowboys should ask for a receipt. They cleaned the room out, prying loose far more value than they gave up, and it was the quiet MVP of their weekend. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B+.
Whatever else happened, they won the night they took Scott. They will regret leaving quarterback for another day if the season turns on it.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but quarterback.
Pick-by-Pick
In No. 12 they get an island corner at fair value. The biggest hole, addressed.
In pick No. 25 they get a double-digit-sack hope, reach and all. Need was not the driver here.
They robbed the room for Keionte Scott here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Zakee Wheatley at pick 92 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the safety. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Kaleb Proctor in the 165th pick is fair value, right on his grade. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Bryce Boettcher at the 177th overall pick. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Aamil Wagner in Round 5, Pick 40 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Harrison Wallace III at No. 218 is money in the bank, a wide receiver taken below his worth. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
A clean, defensible pick in slot 220 with a little surplus value in Thaddeus Dixon. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
