The Cowboys did not so much draft Mikail Kamara as overpay for him, 64 picks clear of his grade. It sets an uneasy tone for the weekend.
The dealing alone would carry a lesser class. They will regret leaving wide receiver for another day if the season turns on it.
They will answer for taking edge rusher early while wide receiver, offensive lineman and other spots went begging.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the wide receiver spot they never got to.
Pick-by-Pick
In Round 1, Pick 19 they get an enforcer at safety, reach and all. Need was not the driver here.
CJ Allen in the Round 1 slot is fair value, right on his grade. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Caden Curry. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Hard to square with the roster. With positions of obvious need still on the board, Mikail Kamara adds an edge rusher and leaves wide receiver, offensive lineman and other spots untouched.
