This is the pick they will still be bragging about in July: Kamari Ramsey, the No. 73 name on the board, stolen at No. 112.
The phones were where this weekend was really won. It is not that Golday is a bad player; it is that the Cowboys had louder needs to answer first.
That wide receiver hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.
In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.
Pick-by-Pick
In the Round 1 slot they get a sticky cover corner at fair value. The biggest hole, addressed.
In pick No. 30 they get a disruptor off the edge, reach and all. More want than need.
A curious use of slot 92. Wide receiver, linebacker and other spots needed the pick; an edge rusher in Jake Golday did not.
They robbed the room for Kamari Ramsey here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Isaiah World in the 152nd pick. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Ar'maj Reed-Adams at pick 177. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Marlin Klein slid further than he should have, and the 180th overall pick is lovely value for the tight end. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
A quiet steal in Round 7, Pick 2: Jadon Canady for less than the market said. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
