For all the boxes ticked, the Titans skipped the loudest one: edge rusher is exactly as bare as it was.
The Pavia pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over. Pregnon falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch. The Tuli Tuipulotu deal gives the class an established piece to lean on.
Bottom line, more hits than misses and a roster nudged the right way.
Pick-by-Pick
They jumped the gun on Omar Cooper Jr., taking him earlier than his grade liked. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
A reach for D'Angelo Ponds in pick 35; a little patience would have been rewarded. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Emmanuel Pregnon is a better player than the Round 2 slot suggests; smart patience, rewarded. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Jacob Rodriguez at Round 3, Pick 2 is money in the bank, a linebacker taken below his worth. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Connor Lew in pick No. 86 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
A clean, defensible pick in the 101st pick with a little surplus value in Bryce Lance. It fills a real need, too.
By-the-book stuff, Kaytron Allen at No. 142 squarely in line with his ranking. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Harold Perkins Jr. slid further than he should have, and the 144th overall pick is lovely value for the linebacker. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Domani Jackson in slot 184 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. They added to a strength when a need was still open elsewhere.
They went early on Jalen Stroman in the Round 6 slot, and the value did not follow. A minor itch, scratched.
They left a pile of value on the table to take Diego Pavia this early at the 225th overall pick. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
