The war room fell hard for Logan Fano, and it showed at No. 187: 70 picks ahead of a board that had other ideas. It nets out to a B-, which feels about right.
The phones were where this weekend was really won. The wide receiver hole is the one line item this class does not answer.
Hill Jr. at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster.
Bottom line, more hits than misses and a roster nudged the right way.
Pick-by-Pick
In Round 1, Pick 7 they get a quarterback's worst nightmare at fair value.
The board had Anthony Hill Jr. higher than pick 53, and the linebacker fell to them anyway. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
A real head-scratcher, Jaishawn Barham in the 71st pick is miles ahead of his ranking. The roster fit checks out.
Nicholas Singleton at slot 76 is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
They left a pile of value on the table to take Markel Bell this early at pick No. 85. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
They paid up for Parker Brailsford at the Round 4 slot when waiting would have done the job. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Aamil Wagner in No. 178 lands just on the right side of the ledger. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Logan Fano at pick 187 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
By-the-book stuff, Toriano Pride Jr. at the Round 6 slot squarely in line with his ranking. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Jeremiah Wright in slot 223 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
