Every so often the board makes a mistake, and the Commanders were there to profit. Bhayshul Tuten, the No. 159 name on the board, should have been long gone before Round 6, Pick 29. The bottom line is a respectable B.
A whole weekend of picks and cornerback is somehow still a want. They left with wide receiver solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off. The offense got the lion's share of the attention.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but cornerback.
Pick-by-Pick
A market-rate offensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Wyatt Milum. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Harold Fannin Jr. in slot 61. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
A tidy bit of business in Round 3, Pick 15, where Dylan Sampson graded well above the range. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
They will replay Jack Nelson at the 148th overall pick for years; that is how good the value is. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Bhayshul Tuten in the 207th pick is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
They let Zeek Biggers come to them and pounced at pick No. 238. A need, and now a little less of one.
You do not let a wide receiver like Theo Wease Jr. reach pick 250 and blink. They did not. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
