Somebody in the 153rd overall pick was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The Eagles sat still while Smael Mondon Jr., the No. 106 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B.
A whole weekend of picks and cornerback is somehow still a want. The trade work was a quiet net positive. Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the cornerback spot they never got to.
Pick-by-Pick
Nice patience on Kenneth Grant, who had no business lasting to slot 40. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Good price on Bryson Nesbit in No. 62, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
They let Clay Webb come to them and pounced at Round 3, Pick 15. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
They did well to land Jaeden Roberts in the Round 3 slot, just ahead of his grade. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Rod Moore at pick No. 94 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. A need, and now a little less of one.
Shemar Turner at the 104th pick is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
They read the board right and Beaux Collins was the payoff at the 111th overall pick. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
They barely believed it either: Smael Mondon Jr. still on the board at pick 153. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
A reasonable price with a little left over, Jalen Travis in Round 6, Pick 15. It fills a real need, too.
