Call it a hunch or call it a gamble, but the Packers spent the 240th overall pick on Hayden Hatten, a name most had 81 spots down the list.
That is a quarterback worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly. With edge rusher, cornerback and other spots unsolved, spending premium capital on linebacker is the choice that costs them.
If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through edge rusher.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but edge rusher.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 19th pick they get a weapon on the perimeter. A real need, handled.
A tidy bit of business in pick No. 41, where Jordan Morgan graded well above the range. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
They paid sticker price for Tyler Guyton in No. 51, and that is fine. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Payton Wilson at the 83rd overall pick is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the linebacker. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
