Thirty-one other rooms let Javon Baker slide, and the Packers were the ones holding the card at slot 127. Highway robbery.
Leaving edge rusher unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. They went 4 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.
A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 25 they get a sticky cover corner at fair value. The biggest hole, addressed.
They paid sticker price for Tyler Nubin in the 41st overall pick, and that is fine. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Edgerrin Cooper in the 58th pick is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Blake Corum at No. 88 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Christian Mahogany in pick 91 is fair value, right on his grade. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
A wide receiver of that caliber at the Round 4 slot is the definition of value, full stop. A need, and now a little less of one.
Mason McCormick slipping to Round 5, Pick 32 is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
