There is conviction, and then there is this. The Patriots took Jimmy Horn Jr. a full 82 picks ahead of where the board had him, an overdraft steep enough that it colors the whole weekend. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B.
The Henderson pick alone nudges the whole weekend up a notch. They will regret leaving quarterback for another day if the season turns on it.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the quarterback spot they never got to.
Pick-by-Pick
No drama and no debate, Abdul Carter went about where he belonged in the Round 1 slot. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Nice patience on Jalon Walker, who had no business lasting to Round 2, Pick 6. A minor need, but a need all the same.
