Some picks age like wine; Christian Jones at the Round 4 slot will need to, sitting 72 spots clear of his grade. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B+.
Whatever else happened, they won the night they took Nix. The trade ledger is the best part of the whole weekend. For all the activity, interior defensive lineman went untouched, which is hard to explain.
Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.
Pick-by-Pick
In No. 5 they get a weapon on the perimeter. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Circle this one: Olumuyiwa Fashanu at pick No. 34 is a fall that decides a draft. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
The board fumbled Bo Nix all the way to the 68th overall pick, and they scooped it up. A need, and now a little less of one.
They paid up for Darius Robinson at pick 104 when waiting would have done the job. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
They reached a country mile for Christian Jones at slot 136, and the board is aghast. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Kitan Oladapo slipping to Round 6, Pick 7 is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
They barely believed it either: AJ Barner still on the board at slot 229. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
