New England Patriots

Best value of the weekend goes to the Patriots for Morgan: A-.

This is the pick they will still be bragging about in July: Jordan Morgan, the No. 35 name on the board, stolen at the 105th overall pick. They executed a plan and it shows in the A-.

The phones were where this weekend was really won. The Mahogany reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade.

For all the activity, edge rusher went untouched, which is hard to explain. The veteran additions, Bernhard Raimann chief among them, give the class a floor the rookies alone would not.

The kind of weekend a front office frames and hangs on the wall.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.7 · Pick 7 · Marvin Harrison Jr. · WR · rank 1
They did well to land Marvin Harrison Jr. in the Round 1 slot, just ahead of his grade. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
R2.2 · Pick 34 · Jayden Daniels · QB · rank 7
Jayden Daniels in Round 2, Pick 2 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
R2.3 · Pick 35 · Olumuyiwa Fashanu · OT · rank 8
The board fumbled Olumuyiwa Fashanu all the way to the 35th overall pick, and they scooped it up. The roster fit checks out.
R3.4 · Pick 68 · Christian Mahogany · OG · rank 99
They left a pile of value on the table to take Christian Mahogany this early at pick 68. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
R4.4 · Pick 104 · Tyler Nubin · S · rank 39
Steal is underselling it; Tyler Nubin at No. 104 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
R4.5 · Pick 105 · Jordan Morgan · OT · rank 35
You do not let an offensive lineman like Jordan Morgan reach slot 105 and blink. They did not. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
R6.7 · Pick 182 · Luke McCaffrey · WR · rank 165
They read the board right and Luke McCaffrey was the payoff at pick No. 182. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
