B
New England Patriots
Nobody dealt better than the Patriots this weekend: B.

2024 NFL Draft
· 6 picks
· 0 steals
· 4 reaches
Give the war room a raise for the dealing alone. The Patriots came out ahead on every exchange that mattered, and it was not close.
The Mahogany reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade. They will regret leaving edge rusher for another day if the season turns on it. The imported veterans give this class a floor the draft picks could not on their own.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but edge rusher.
Pick-by-Pick
In the Round 1 slot they get a long-term starter on the line. A real need, handled.
J.J. McCarthy in Round 2, Pick 2 is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. It fills a real need, too.
T'Vondre Sweat at No. 45 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Christian Mahogany at the 68th pick is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Value said wait; Johnny Wilson in slot 104 says they were not listening. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
This one needs a full-page explanation: Luke McCaffrey in pick 136, miles early. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
