There is reaching, and then there is Josiah Ezirim at the Round 6 slot. The Patriots jumped the board by 99 and dared it to prove them wrong. It nets out to a B, which feels about right.
Worthy at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster. The phones were where this weekend was really won.
That edge rusher hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.
In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.

Christian Jones at the 137th overall pick is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
A big swing on Ryan Flournoy at Round 6, Pick 5, well ahead of any board in the building. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Value said wait; Josiah Ezirim in the Round 6 slot says they were not listening. The roster fit checks out.
