You could see the war room lean forward. Oscar Delp at Round 5, Pick 2 is the sort of fall that does not happen, except it just did.
The trade ledger is the best part of the whole weekend. They will regret leaving edge rusher for another day if the season turns on it.
The veteran additions, Joe Alt chief among them, give the class a floor the rookies alone would not.
Add it up and this is about as clean as a draft weekend gets.
Pick-by-Pick
Circle this one: Malaki Starks at slot 39 is a fall that decides a draft. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
The board fumbled Colston Loveland all the way to pick 72, and they scooped it up. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
They barely believed it either: Oscar Delp still on the board at the 130th pick. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Somehow Sonny Styles was still sitting there in the Round 5 slot, and they pounced on premier safety value. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
