They will call it conviction in the building and a reach everywhere else: Devin Neal, 97 picks early at slot 197.
They covered a lot of ground and still skipped wide receiver, which is a strange place to end up. Landing Scourton that late papers over a lot of smaller sins.
They squeezed a little extra out of every move they made. They went 4 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the wide receiver spot they never got to.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 8th pick they get a long-term starter on the line. A clean fit for the roster.
By-the-book stuff, Emery Jones at the 35th overall pick squarely in line with his ranking. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Nic Scourton at pick No. 37 is the proof. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Tyler Booker at pick 38 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. The roster fit checks out.
Value said wait; Earnest Greene III in the Round 3 slot says they were not listening. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
