The rest of the league will want that one back. Garrett Nussmeier tumbling to the Patriots in Round 7, Pick 7 is a gift they did not have to think twice about. This is how you run a draft, and the A- reflects it.
Every deal seemed to tilt their way, which is not luck. They will regret leaving edge rusher for another day if the season turns on it.
A strong weekend's work, and a rare one to find this little fault with.
Pick-by-Pick
In the Round 1 slot they get a rangy last line of defense, and a steal at that. The biggest hole, addressed.
Taking Travis Hunter in slot 34 is close to grand larceny; a cornerback that good had no business lasting this long. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
They barely believed it either: Colston Loveland still on the board at No. 85. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Circle this one: Oscar Delp at Round 5, Pick 2 is a fall that decides a draft. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Sonny Styles in the 135th pick is a gift, value that borders on unfair. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Tahj Brooks in pick No. 194 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Garrett Nussmeier in pick 199 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
