The board owed the Patriots one, and it paid up: Cam Ward, the No. 11 name on the board, sitting there at the 220th overall pick like a gift left on the doorstep. They executed a plan and it shows in the A-.

They won the margins on every swap, and it adds up fast. The imported veterans give this class a floor the draft picks could not on their own.

A strong weekend's work, and a rare one to find this little fault with.
