The Patriots did not reach, did not trade up, did not blink. They just waited, and Tre Harris fell into the 216th overall pick.

The dealing alone would carry a lesser class. Leaving quarterback unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. Adding Christian Darrisaw by trade rounds out the weekend beyond the rookies.

Job largely done: edge rusher settled and 7 of 8 of the wish list covered.

Trust the process, because this time the process plainly worked.
